Аннотация. Пандемия COVID-19, о которой Всемирная организация здравоохранения (ВОЗ) объявила в марте 2020 г., нанесла самый тяжелый урон за последние 90 лет мировой сфере здравоохранения. Она показала, что для успешного реагирования на такие ситуации, критически важным является ответственное и координированное поведение руководства стран, с одной стороны, и доверие граждан к правительствам, с другой. Столкнется ли мир с теми же проблемами в случае появления новой эпидемии, во многом будет зависеть как от инвестиций в систему надзора за заболеваниями, профилактических мер, своевременных разработок эффективных вакцин, так и от готовности государств к сотрудничеству друг с другом, открытости и обмену достоверной информацией.
