Аннотация. Соперничество США и КНР на море в последние годы приобрело характер морской гонки, где претендент в виде ВМС НОАК стремительно наращивает свои возможности и, в частности, уже обладает численным превосходством над ВМС США. В работе изучается влияние этой гонки на американское военное планирование и ее отражение в национальных доктринах и стратегиях. Исследованы основные проблемы и приоритеты американского военно-морского строительства и сделаны выводы о возможных направлениях его развития.
