Аннотация. Понятие “американская империя” используется для обозначения суверенного неравенства в отношениях между США и рядом второстепенных государств. Сложившиеся подходы к изучению “американской империи” фокусируются на принуждении и насилии как средствах воспроизводства присущего ей неравноправия. В статье исследуются структурные аспекты “американской империи”, позволяющие рассматривать ее в качестве ресурса легитимности доминирования США. Это позволяет выявить механизмы закрепления суверенного неравенства в качестве одного из паттернов международного порядка, сложившегося после холодной войны.
