Аннотация. Статья посвящена исследованию факторов и событий, произошедших в политической и общественной жизни Соединенных Штатов в 2020 г. и повлиявших на итоги выборов. Конфликт политического истеблишмента с президентом Дональдом Трампом, обернувшийся импичментом, пандемия COVID‑19 и меры противодействия, неизбежно повлекшие за собой резкое ухудшение социально-экономической ситуации, протесты BLM и прочие явления и события оказали влияние на горизонтальный, вертикальный федерализм, а также создали беспрецедентные условия для партийной конкуренции на выборах.
