Аннотация. Анализируются отношения экспертных и политических кругов Индии к росту экономического и политического влияния Китая и императивам, определяющим ее политику на китайском направлении. Автор приходит к выводу, что Индия, опираясь на неоднозначный исторический опыт отношений с Китаем, проводит политику, направленную одновременно на сдерживание и на сотрудничество с КНР. Причем в различных субрегионах эта политика имеет свою специфику. В качестве примера рассматривается эволюция индийского концепта Индо-Тихоокеанского региона, постепенно теряющего свою антикитайскую направленность.
