Аннотация. В статье анализируется система деволюции в Канаде, исторические предпосылки формирования современного распределения полномочий между федеральным правительством, провинциями и территориями. Исследованы факторы и принципы развития деволюционных процессов, а также современные тенденции передачи компетенций провинциям и территориям. Обозначены особенности современной канадской деволюционной системы, проблемы, с которыми федеральный центр может столкнуться в процессе децентрализации власти и передачи полномочий регионам.
