Аннотация. В статье анализируются основные направления и характер реформ в сфере образования, проводимых с 2010 г. коалиционным и консервативным правительствами. Подчеркиваются различия в подходах ведущих британских партий к решению задачи обеспечения равного доступа к качественному школьному образованию. Отмечается недостаточная эффективность образовательной политики как инструмента стимулирования социальной мобильности. Раскрываются вопросы, связанные с финансированием университетов, спецификой студенческого кредитования и распространением рыночного подхода к университетскому образованию.
