Аннотация. Статья посвящена роли экспертно-политического сообщества в формировании курса США в отношении Украины. Важнейший вопрос – почему именно Украина стала для идеологов внешнеполитической стратегии США ключевым государством постсоветского пространства? В статье систематизированы и проанализированы идеологические позиции различных групп американских экспертов в отношении развития политических событий в Украине в 1990–2010-е годы. Одной из целей исследования стало выявление предпосылок формирования политики Вашингтона в условиях украинского кризиса. Анализируются основные международные и внутренние факторы формирования идейной повестки администрации Белого дома в отношении Киева.
