This is a system of indexes developed by the IMEMO for comparative evaluation of the maritime potential of 100 countries. The Index of Maritime Might (IMM) is suggested as a quantitative expression of a country’s overall position in the maritime domain. It consists of three sub-indexes: the Index of Maritime Resources (IMR), the Index of Maritime Instruments (IMI) and the Index of Maritime Activities (IMA). Also the IMI includes the Index of Navy (IoN).

All indexes are computed as of the 1st of January and published in the annual report ‘The IMEMO Sea Powers’ Rankings XXXX’ in June as a preliminary version. The final version (2.0) of these indexes is published annually in December.
