Abstract. The paper focuses on the aftermath of the 2012 Malian military coup. It aims to investigate discordances between government bodies, Malian army and tuareg rebels, as well as the role of Islamic fundamentalism in the events 2013. There is also question of France’s military intervention in Northern Mali, its implicit reasons and possible effects.
