Abstract. The UK general elections took place in the summer of 2024 and resulted in Labour victory over the Conservative Party. However, popularity of the new government headed by Prime Minister K. Starmer had already significantly decreased by the autumn. British voters appeared to be disillusioned with the politics of the Conservative Government that has been in power for many years, but also not satisfied with the first steps of the new Labour Government. Economic situation has somewhat stabilized, and the inflation rate in 2024 has noticeably decreased compared to the previous year. Nevertheless, sluggish economic growth and persistent socio-economic difficulties, including the underperforming National Health System and high cost of living, have not been encouraging. On the foreign policy track, the level of uncertainty has sharply increased due to D. Trump’s victory in the US presidential election.
