Abstract. In 2024, the victory of the conservatives in the parliamentary elections in Iran revealed a crisis of confidence in the government, but the election of reformer Masoud Pezeshkian as president restored the balance of political forces. Iran’s economy continues to experience difficulties due to sanctions, inflation and dependence on oil revenues. Iran is strengthening ties with Russia, China and other non-Western countries, while declaring a multi-vector approach to foreign policy. The country’s regional policy has been complicated by the escalation of the conflict with Israel, the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria and the weakening of Hezbollah’s position, which has undermined Iran’s long-term strategy of building an “axis of resistance”.
Keywords: early presidential elections, the economy of resistance, the foreign policy course of the Pezeshkian administration, Iran’s regional policy
