Abstract. The article analyzes the main directions and trends of China’s development in 2024. The main measures taken by the authorities to ensure sustainable economic growth and overcome the influence of negative internal and external factors are considered. Special attention is paid to the decisions of the 3rd Plenum of the CPC Central Committee of the 20th convocation, which defined a strategy for high-quality development and building a high-level market economy based on coordination between the objectives of economic growth and national security  an integral condition for continuing Chinese-style modernization. The article analyzes the implementation of China’s foreign policy strategy, which is aimed at deepening relations with the countries of the Global South, strengthening Beijing’s positions and influence in various regions of the world. The article considers the progressive development of Russian-Chinese relations and the further deepening of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in a new era. The leaders of China and Russia play a crucial role in promoting this course.
