Abstract. The article analyzes the main directions and trends of China’s development in 2023. The article considers the main steps and measures to consolidate the structure of the country’s top leadership and authorities in connection with the election of President Xi Jinping for a third five-year term, which ensured the continuity of domestic and foreign policy of the state. The article analyzes China’s foreign policy strategy and its implementation in relations with various countries and regions of the world in the context of the Chinese leadership’s desire to stabilize interactions with the United States. Special attention is paid to the authorities’ measures to ensure the successful development of the economy and overcoming problems arising in the context of growing sanctions pressure from Western countries. The progressive development of Russian-Chinese connections and further strengthening of bilateral relations of comprehensive strategic partnership is considered.
