Abstract. In 2023, inflation and economic crises led to a decline in support for the ruling coalition and an increase in the popularity of opposition forces. However, under these conditions, the government of Olaf Scholz continued to implement the course of energy transition and reform of migration legislation. A new association, the Sarah Wagenknecht Union, appeared on the country’s political scene and is expected to be registered as a party soon. Germany remained the second most important donor of aid to Ukraine after the US.
