United Kingdom: a Sequence of Challenges

Abstract. Year 2022 turned out to be turbulent for the United Kingdom both in connection with the rising tensions in Europe and on the global level and due to the accumulated internal discrepancies. British political life and economy faced numerous challenges, including some unprecedented in recent history. Within a span of this year, the UK citizens have seen a total of three prime ministers, had to say farewell to the longest serving monarch Elizabeth II, endured cost of living crisis and massive strikes. The nation’s economy, health and social services had to overcome a number of issues.
