Abstract. 2022 was a difficult year for the Turkish economy and international financial experts predicted a complete collapse — a further inflation rate, a fall in the lira exchange rate. However, in general, the fall not only decreased, but also economic activity began to grow. In the external political sphere, President Erdogan mediated negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, although they ended in vain. Türkiye, together with Russia, also acted as a guarantor of the «grain deal», which made to withdraw millions of tons of agricultural products from Ukrainian ports. Türkiye intensified efforts to strengthen the Organization of Turkic States. Independent Turkish policy lead to the complication of relations with NATO both on the purchase of Russian S-400 complexes, and on the entry of Finland and Sweden to NATO, and aggravation of the Greek-Turkish relations.

Keywords: Türkiye, R.T. Erdogan, Ukraine, «grain deal», NATO, Finland, Sweden, Organization of Turkic states, Pan-Turkism, crisis, inflation
