Abstract. In 2022 Germany faced a new reality — a large-scale military conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Under these conditions, the FRG radically revised the constants of its policy. If before the FRG did not supply lethal weapons to the warring countries and was ready to take into account Russia’s interests on the Post-Soviet space, now Berlin is supplying lethal weapons to Ukraine, and is also unlikely to oppose NATO enlargement on the Post-Soviet space. A serious challenge for the country was the policy of completely refusing of purchase Russian energy resources, supported by all the forces of the political mainstream. To achieve this goal, the German government extended the exploitation of three nuclear power plants and restarted the operation of several coal-fired power plants. To help the population in the face of ongoing severe inflation, the German government has adopted a massive «Third relief package», as well as a number of other support measures.
