Abstract. The article deals with the key problems of the socio-political and economic development of France, as well as its foreign policy course. A detailed analysis of the results of the presidential and parliamentary elections of 2022 is carried out. The author comes to the conclusion that the synthesis of left and right ideas carried out by the acting President Macron, as well as a series of crises and extraordinary situations of a very different nature, eventually strengthened the positions of the executive branch, which led the head of state to victory. The article emphasizes that the absence of an absolute majority of pro-presidential forces in the National Assembly portends difficulties in the interaction of the government and Parliament.
