Abstract. The article analyzes the main directions and trends of China’s development in 2022. The materials and results of the 20th Congress of the CPC, which defined the party’s strategy as the main guiding force in the country's development for the foreseeable future, are considered in detail. The main outcome of the congress was the election of Xi Jinping to the post of party general secretary for a third five-year term, which ensures the continuity of the domestic and foreign policy of the PRC. Particular attention is paid to the socio-economic development of China, which has experienced a strong negative impact of internal and external factors. The features and main directions of the country’s economic recovery are noted, the main problems and measures of the authorities to overcome them are highlighted. The dynamics and progressive development of Russian-Chinese relations of comprehensive strategic partnership in the context of growing geopolitical conflicts are considered separately.
