Abstract. The first year of the presidency of J. Biden was marked by the activation of American diplomacy in the Indo-Pacific region, which resulted in the revival of the Quadrilateral Dialogue on Security Issues with the participation of Australia, India, the United States and Japan (Quad) and the holding in Washington of a summit of leaders of the countries participating in the dialogue, which discussed issues of maintaining peace and security in the region in conjunction with the intensification of economic cooperation. In 2021, a triple alliance was also formed between Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States (AUKUS) with the task of ensuring regional security, the first result of which was American technological assistance to the creation of an Australian nuclear submarine fleet. In this regard, China negatively assesses the US policy as a relapse of bloc diplomacy aimed at drawing dividing lines in the region.
