3// The Year of the Planet. 2021. Yearbook-2021. P. 137-146
Abstract. The article examines the first year of the foreign policy activities of the Biden administration. It describes the problems of restoring and updating the American alliances after the Trump presidency. It also analyzes attempts to conceptually rethink the US foreign policy approaches in the face of growing non-military challenges, primarily related to the PRC. The 2021 has become important for the formation of new foreign policy approaches in Washington. The US established new blocs (AUKUS); announced the creation of large infrastructure projects (B3W). In the end of the year the Biden administration held the Summit of Democracies which became an attempt to consolidate American allies and partners. However, these initiatives do not improve the American positions by themselves. Unleashing their potential will be a major challenge for the Biden team over the next three years.
