Abstract. The article analyzes the 2019 European Parliament elections and the preceding election campaign. The most important outcomes are the continued fragmentation of the party system and the strengthening of the pro-European orientation of political factions. The most radical of them abandoned their strict Euroscepticism in favor of continued integration within the EU, but taking into account the interests of national states. The author draws attention to the continuing problem of democratic legitimacy of the EU governing bodies, which manifested itself most clearly during the election of a new head of the European Commission. Particular attention is paid to the impact of the European elections on EU countries’ domestic politics.
