Abstract. On October 31, 2019, U.S. House of Representatives approved a resolution to begin an official impeachment investigation of the President — Donald Trump. The House voted 232 — in favor and 196 — against the procedure. A little more than a year remains until the next presidential election in the United States. The Democrats will use every opportunity during this time to discredit the President and prevent his re-election. The article covers the chronology of two main investigations, trying to explain, how the unprecedented anti-presidential movement in the US is connected to a systemic crisis in the country as well as to a more global political transformations.
