India after Election:Stimulation of Slowing Economy and Political Reforms

Abstract. In 2019, the Indian economy showed signs of a slowdown. The victory of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the general parliamentary elections in April — May strengthened the position of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and strengthened his leadership in the party, as a result of which it was possible to carry out the previously outlined reforms — depriving the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, and amending the citizenship law. In foreign policy, India has reaffirmed its commitment to the principle of strategic autonomy.
