Great Britain Leaves the EU

Abstract. In 2019 the UK continued to decline in economic activity. As in previous years, the center of socio-economic life, British domestic and foreign policy was the problem of the country's exit from the EU. In July, after several unsuccessful attempts to complete the process of secession from the European Union, Teresa May announced her resignation from the post of leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister, the government was headed by Boris Johnson. On December 12, early parliamentary elections were held, a conservative victory was won by the conservatives led by the new leader. Having secured an absolute majority in parliament, the conservatives were given the opportunity to ratify the Brexit agreement and withdraw the country from the EU.
