Abstract. Article contains the analysis of results of Venezuela’s social and economic development from 1999 to 2013. Periodisation of governmental economic policy is offered. It is stressed that radicalization of a governmental policy for the purpose of construction «socialism of the XXI century» takes place. The author also analyzes political changes connected with coming to power in the country of the new president and makes an assessment of prospects for stabilization of economic and socio-political situation in the country.
