Abstract

Russian Red Cross Society was the largest and the most influential public charity organization in the Russian Empire. It was involved in all armed conflicts in 1867– 1917. The activities of the Society enjoyed broad support of the population. Studying the history of Red Cross Society in the Russian Empire helps revive humanitarian tradition and bring back to life the values of humanism and mercy in modern Russia.
