The influence of maritime piracy on the stability in Southeast Asia

Abstract

The article is an analysis of piracy in the Strait of Malacca and the South China Sea. The main attention is paid to the dynamics and evolution of this criminal activity, as well as to its influence on the safety of navigation and the world trade. The author also explores tendencies of further development of piracy in Southeast Asia.
