The article defines the term "technology broker" in the defense sector. It describes the experience of creating technology brokers in the USA and in the European Union. It also discusses the Soviet experience and åðó critical application of foreign experience in technology transfer and the possibility of forming a unified state technology broker in the defense sector in Russia. Finally, it analyzes technological brokerage and mechanism of technology transfer as important elements of the national innovation system (NIS) in the innovation economy.
