Trans-Arctic context of Russia’s strategic priorities

In the context of contemporary national discourse on the Arctic Russia’s strategic priorities in the region are discussed. This theme was central to a "brainstorming” session of the "Mercury Club" that was held on October 8, 2014 under the direction of academician E.M.Primakov. The article applies the concept of political space to analyze the role of the Eurasian Arctic advantages of the Russian Federation in ensuring Russia's national interests in the emerging Transarctica (Trans-Arctic, T-A).
