Terrorism in Kazakhstan: factors and origins

Abstract

The article describes and analyzes the factors and nature of terrorism and extremism in Kazakhstan. The author comes to a conclusion that terrorism is gradually becoming a sustainable and long-term phenomenon of socio-political life of Kazakhstan. This trend should be placed in context of the deepening religious extremism and the nature of Kazakhstan's socio-political system.
