Abstract. This article examines the objectives, approaches, key areas, and results of BRICS collaboration on population matters. Despite being less explored than other BRICS domains, population issues are fundamental to economic and social development. For over a decade, BRICS countries have addressed diverse demographic challenges – aging populations, youth development, gender equality, and urbanization – through knowledge sharing and policy alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 2024 seminar, chaired by Russia, highlighted the group’s commitment to tailored solutions and international cooperation, positioning BRICS as a significant platform for tackling complex of demographic issues and promoting sustainable development across varied contexts.

Keywords: BRICS, population dynamics, demographic challenges, sustainable development, urbanization, aging populations, youth development, gender equality, SDGs, cooperation
