Abstract. The publication provides an overview of 60-yeasr history of IMEMO’ studies in the field of world economy and foreign economic activities of USSR/Russian Federation. The basic stages and directions of these studies are presented. The author outlines the main theoretical ideas of the Institute’s specialists that contributed into the practical foreign economic policy of our country.
