Motivations of China’s Participation in the BRICS

Abstract

The article identifies and characterizes the basics of China’s ever-increasing interests in the BRICS. It is concluded that Chinese strategy makes the stress on consolidation of BRICS countries‘ efforts in promoting reformation of the global governance system, primarily such institutions as IMF, WB and WTO. Beijing also appreciates BRICS’ potential in improving and accelerating China’s relations with emerging and developing states.
