Abstract

How to tackle the problems of unemployment in the US and EU economies that have become so acute during the recession of 2008–2009 and post-recession depression is the overwhelming topic of the review. The high rates of unemployment in developed economies are viewed as the product of globalization, export offensive of giant developing economies and the crises of the banking system. The ways to secure full employment suggested by economists of various schools and the US Democratic and Republican Parties are critically evaluated.
