Abstract

The Nordic countries adhere to a prudent, wait-and-see position, focusing on accomplishing of the integration project future development model offered de facto by Berlin or London. To all appearance, neither disintegration of the EU, nor the more dynamic system of the EU development – the transfer to federalism – is profitable for the Nordic countries. They also fear the intensification of European integration in the format “Europe of Different Speeds”. The overcoming of stagnation by the European project most probably associates with traditional way of strengthening the role and importance of sovereign member states.
