Abstract. The article deals with the scale and development trends of the non-observed economy and informal occupancy in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The study is based on the material of the national statistics that were not discussed in the Russian literature until now. The author’s conclusions relate to the social and economic importance of the studied phenomena.
