Abstract. The article considers international experience of economic modernization. A conclusion is made that the trend of resource nationalism has a global scope and involves both industrial and developing nations. The main reason is the surge of natural resources and extracting industries role in the economic development. In 1930-s the principal source of Russia’s primary industrialization was the agriculture. Now the natural resources can become a source for the nation’s “new industrialization”.
