Abstract. Relationships between the states of Maghrib (the Arab North Africa) have always been extremely complicated. Border conflicts in addition to geopolitical rivalry have from time to time created dangerous situations, although actual wars never happened. The article is focused on the analysis of the external policy of the Qaddafi regime in Libya and on the Western Sahara conflict.
