Abstract. This article contains an analysis of the state of democracy in the Balkan countries in the light of polls. Despite the 20 years praxis of competitive elections and regular change of power, people’s trust in elections, parties, parliaments and governments is the lowest. This creates a demand for new political forces and faces.
