Abstract. Russian immigrants exerted a significant impact on the formation of the Argentine nation at the turn of XIX and XX centuries. At that time, immigrants from Russia were fourth-largest diaspora in Argentina. Over the past century, immigration from Russia to Argentina showed a pronounced wave pattern that primarily depended on the political developments in Russia. After experiencing a period of cultural and economic prosperity in the early and mid-XX century, modern Russian diaspora in Argentina declined considerably in terms of scope and level of its social influence.
