Abstract. The article deals with the changes in the regional division of modern Serbia in the first decade of the 2000s. The author analyzes demographic problems of the country, the dynamics of population according to the census of 2002 and 2011. Particular attention is paid to the issue of relations between Serbia and the Republic of Kosovo.
