Abstract. The author scrupulously considers the problem of population ageing in Russia and, highlights the global and individual features of the process. A special attention is paid to the analysis of the dynamics of the governmental expenditures on health care and pensions. Also, the author makes conclusions on the impact on the population ageing on the evolution of political system in Russia.
