Abstract. The publication presents materials of the situation analysis “On peculiarities of current financial situation in the United States and prospects of US dollar” held by IMEMO. The purpose of the analysis is to consider possible options for development of the financial situation in the United States in the medium term, to explore the positions of other countries – leaders of the world economy relative to the American financial problems and their influence on global processes, to make proposals on how to reduce the likely and/or hypothetical risks in this area for Russia.
