Abstract. The article considers the problems and prospects of the partnership of Russia and Germany in the field of modernization. It is not so much assistance from FRG to Russia. We should seek for the joint solution of common tasks, such as, for instance, combating new infectious diseases. Therefore, the implementation of this partnership is extremely important to both countries. One of the instruments of partnership is the “Petersburg Dialogue” that plays an important role in Russian-German relations. We see an involvement in the work in the Forum of an increasing number of participants, especially through using the up-to-date information technologies. Of course, we have to work hard to see a success.

Keywords: “Petersburg dialogue”, Russian-German relations, civil society, modernization, challenges of global nature
