Abstract

During the post-bipolar period, the elimination of external pressure and super powers' infighting, cessation of the arms race intrinsically furthered rapproachment of military-political interests and geopolitical lines of the subregional states which adhered to multifold security models, bloc and integration policy. The report of J. Stoltenberg (the former Foreign Minister of Norway), the statements of which have already been implemented in practice, became an important milestone of this considerable progress. The Nordic Defence Cooperation will be better organized politically, coordinated and more effective as a result of some national structures' amalgamation. Even if any new military-political formation in the subregion will not emerge soon, the further cooperation reinforcement in this sphere may lead to essential change in the defence and security field.
