Abstract

In the article, the problem of the Caucasus population identity is investigated, where a variety of socioeconomic, national-territorial, confessional, geopolitical and other challenges are tied up to a complicated knot. This clarifies the fact that the domestic political science has not yet given a scientifically based answer to the question: is it possible to speak about the Caucasus region as a universal Caucasus identity for representatives of all regional folks? If yes, what is its essence?
