Abstract

Thinking about the monograph of the Spanish historian Antonio F.Canales Serrano “Las otras derechas: Derechas y poder local en el País Vasco y Cataluña en el siglo XX”, who is known for his scientific interests for catalanism, Basque nationalism, Francoism, the Catholic Church in Spain, the author analyses the history of formation and development of Spanish nation-state, phenomenon of Spanish regionalism, peculiarities of modern political process in Catalonia and Basque Country regarding the significance of autonomist (ethno-regionalist) parties.
