Abstract. The author examines the structural changes in the Ukrainian economy during its 35 years of independence. The conclusion on deep structural transformation of the economy and sufficient progress in the integration processes with the EU, as the main trade partner is made. At the same time, a drift from a multisectoral to a simplified economic model, dependent on the foreign credits and the vulnerability of the international markets is stated.
